Profile summary:

I am a result oriented and very decision capable Project Manager with an overall focus on implementation of IT-projects that derives from business needs and quickly generates value for the company. I run projects with primary focus on Scrum and agile development in general.

As a consultant I am an expert within the areas of problem solving and facilitation. I achieve this through clearly defining project purpose, create dynamics, adding energy, ownership and results within projects.

Task/Project Description

Implementation and launch of VOD service (YouBio for Connected TVs) and implementation of two new Set-top Boxes (integration project with Netgem and Humax). Implementation of OnDemand TV Archive on TDC TV (Mediaroom, MSTV (MPF), launch of Blockbuster on Connected TVs from Samsung, LG, Philips, Sony, Panasonic and Playstation. Lead integration of UI and middleware on new Set-top Box developed and implemented.

Process description:

The consultant was responsible for:

Projects that were highly technical and required technical analysis of the basis for new apps and STBs in a matured Danish TV market. Implementation of apps and hardware, by both leading internal development teams and external partners in Denmark, France, Ukraine and Sweden.

 

Introduced continuously refined agile methods to development in all projects, using daily Kanban meetings on Skype, improving collaboration, information sharing and efficiency dramatically.

 

Lead on UI development for new TDC STB, gathering requirements and modelling prototypes with designers and commercial management.

Result:

Launched a series of apps on Connected TVs (YouBio and Blockbuster), successfully launched a new STB from Netgem in 6 months, which was both a development and integration project.

 

Launched an OnDemand TV-archive service and revamped offshore development on Mediaroom for Microsoft STBs.

 

New Humax STB with YouSee homegrown UI launched in March 2016.

Task/Project Description

Implementation and launch of WebTV, Web TV Bio (VOD), Verimatrix IPTV and Video on Demand encryption and development of iOS (iPad) app for Web TV.

 

Started by overtaking a capsized Web TV project from a former project manager, re-prioritized all tasks, removed impediments and launched on time under a very tight deadline, on June 20th 2011.

 

Projects all contains commercial aspects, which means customer service training, marketing activities and large scale friendly user tests was conducted as well as close collaboration with Product Management.

Process description:

The consultant was responsible for:

Planned and designed iPad app in close collaboration with PM and subcontractor, and launched on time, October 25th 2011, including new emergency HLS streams.

 

Overtook planning and project lead from project manager on IPTV encryption project that was about to collapse and presented a new plan which is carried out.

 

Planned and designed Bio (VOD) for Web TV with Product Management, in which detailed planning of handling of existing assets and encryption.

 

Gradually introduced scrum methods in project team, by requirement breakdown and daily scrum meetings for better communication and coordination.

Result:

Launched all products on time, with tight deadline and with great satisfaction from management, project organization, customers and not least the 15 Waoo partners and owners (utility companies).

 

Feedback has been a better overview, surplus of energy, more efficient meetings, valuable advisory to the Product Management department and great both commercial and technical insight.

 

Project group consisted of 5-8 people, plus subcontractor and delivering for 15 partner nets.

Task/Project Description

Develop a product backlog with requirements for new employee solution for SME and Large Account customers SplitBilling.

 

Take into account tax rules, design front-end for end-users, customers and customer care. Interview users and customers for wanted features and behaviour. Prepare solution for integration with external sales channels

Process description:

       Started interviewing all users internally, obtaining an overview of the current product and their limitations and speaking to stakeholders throughout the business and external partners.

       Continuously developed and maintained a product backlog with identified business requirements that were tailored the business needs.

       Specifying business requirements according to scrum methods, with As a I want So that clearly stating what is wanted and always justifying the requirement, also to reduce risk of misunderstandings and ease prioritization.

       Designed a web-mock-up of the desired end-user and administrator interface for customer demos and developer negotiations.

       Equipping individual business requirements with test scenarios in the form of Given, When, Then, allowing for an even better understanding of what is desired by developers and testers.

       Conducting a project-kick off explaining all 15 team members why we do this project in collaboration with Scrum Master (Project Manager).

       Continuously participated in requirements adjustments and re-prioritizations, solution designs, scrum sprint-planning, sprint-demos.

Result:

       Project was launched with great success, unseen team spirit and enthusiasm.

       Product mock-up presented to excited customers.

      Implement new Change Request-process.

      Participate in Billing Clean-Up Specification.

      Head and lead Order Quality Forum (OCCI), analyze and follow up on implementation statistics.

      Implement new Call Logging structure for all of Customer Care.

      Perform comprehensive game changing price-change for 15/9-09.

      Analyse and specify MPLS, DUAL-VoIP and split-billing solutions.

Process description:

       Implemented recommended and agreed new Change Request process and handed this successfully over to new permanent employee.

       Facilitated customer care, IT and Product Management in designing solutions e.g. Move- and automatic Numberporting scenarios.

       Headed OCCI-forum form optimizing orderflow from end to end.

       Implemented and delivered comprehensive price-change on time and at very little cost, i.e. giving VoIP to all customers by default, matching prices in the market for new customers, existing customers both getting upgrades in bandwidth and price reductions.

       On behalf of Product Management Business a Wholesale and Business, a solution was designed and analyzed leading to an entirely new way of arranging customers in billing system, thus a 2.0-package was put forward currently pending prioritization, enabling a Business segment to become customers on a larger scale.

Task/Project Description

Analysis of areas the posed a potential threat to Telia, taking out fires, avoiding potential press cases and identify waste of resources and remove them.

Process description:

       Held weekly Flash-meetings or when needed, where "flashed" cases were raised and solved on management level, whenever they had proven unsolvable in the regular line organization.

       Analyzed top 20 "time-wasters" in Customer Care and produced Change Requests for these and held User Interface workshops with Customer Care and system vendors in order to optimize the work in IT systems.

       Analyzed efficiency suggestions and held prioritization meetings for a special and dedicated 2009 project.

Result:

       No critical problems were allowed to live for more than a week.

       Employee satisfaction and efficiency went up in Customer Care.

       11,7 MDKK were discovered in efficiency initiatives and by IT development alone.

Task/Project Description

Project Manager on DSL implementation of new Business Support System based on Microsoft Navision.

Part-time Project Manager at the same time of IPTV and VoIP. Commercial Project Manager on World Wide Coverage project and founder of Web Development Department.

Process description:

       LV used the Telia PROMO project model but for the basic project planning also utilized PRINCEII principles for alignment of expectations.

       Initiated and managed the implementation of new BSS from Telebilling for use with the existing Telia infrastructure.

       Management with consistent follow-up, motivation of team members, appreciation and a firm focus on deadline, quality and economy.

Result:

Telia Broadband, VoIP, IPTV and Video on Demand all launched in 2008.

Task/Project Description

Replace manager of telia.dk web-team and temporarily take over day to day management of the team.

Launch DSL and campaigns during the period of finding replacement.

Process description:

       Concluded that the web team was not equipped with a manager fit for the task and took over the day to day management of the department and 6 developers while looking for replacement. Led the team through 3 product launches, founded the department including servers, infrastructure and development tools.

       Carried out interviews with prospective new developers and potential new department managers, eventually hired a successor and conducted a hand-over.

Result:

With great satisfaction the web-team become an integrated part of the Commercial Telia, with a reputation of listening, thinking and performing.

Tripleplay products launched with huge success in very little time.

NNIT / Novo Nordisk / Novozymes (#1 medico in Denmark)

Task/Project Description

Implementation of new www.novozymes.com design from a Novozymes design agency, in Microsoft CMS 2002 and roll out Sharepoint for projects within Novo Nordisk.

Process description:

       Developed a project estimate and offer for the customer on a Time&Material project on 900 hours.

       Outlined a plan for the progress with basis in PRINCE2 product breakdown.

       Presented on weekly status meetings the progress with a Visio drawing containing the broken down work-items that were completed.

Result:

Novozymes got a new webdesign in record time (2 months after the design was presented), the project team was motivated despite often missing, delayed or failing deliveries from Novozymes design agency.

TDC A/S (#1 telco in Denmark)

Task/Project Description

Start up new Danish based MVNe (Virtual Mobile Service Provider) directed at teenagers, driven by teenagers as a development and learning experiment.

Process description:

       LV produced a decision paper and presented with the following approval from TDC management.

       Formed a business case, plan for launch and contacted external partners.

       Held focus groups.

       Conducted fund-raising activities and held meetings with potential investors.

       Developed with a production company a TV format for the company to be covered on television with, and presented this to national television (TV2).

       Handed back an extensive number of learnings and feedback to TDC about the target group that could be used in future marketing.

Result:

Company was never launched as TV2 stocks are government controlled and a final evaluation with the board showed that they did not find it a task for the government to launch mobile phone companies in a competitive market.

easyMobile, United Kingdom (Mobile service provider, UK)

Task/Project Description

Plan and launch mobile service provider within 3 months.

Responsibility and project: IT and found department.

Process description:

LV introduced himself to all relevant parties and immediately after started planning and prioritizing tasks needed to go live in time.

       Developed a detailed project plan with dependencies and risk analysis. Dealt with risks by making double negotiations with multiple vendors.

       Due the lack of time 8 consultants, 5 Danish and 3 British were hired to help LV establish the physical infrastructure, server setup, SAN, billing system, phone system and ordering site.

       Documented the complete setup and handed over to my successor in charge of operations.

Result:

       Delivered by the end of contract a fully operational IT department that had launched on time and significantly under the initial Go budget that was approved before LV was hired.

       LV handed over an IT department and system that was scaled to handle traffic not only from England but most of Northern Europe.

TDC Mobil A/S (#1 telco, Denmark)

Task/Project Description

Plan, design and launch Blackberry as the first operator in Denmark.

Process description:

       Produced a Once Pager with business specification, a product budget and setup specification in cooperation with Blackberry (Research In Motion) UK and Canada.

       LV presented on a management meeting the implications a delayed launch would give, and got approval of a forced implementation.

       Developed detailed launch plans, product setup, conducted market research, sales meetings and sales training.

Result:

Blackberry was launched in less than 6 months from project kick-off, with only a one percent variance in customer intake a turnover from the original business case.

Task/Project Description

Product Manager: Evaluate, re launch or if necessary close product.

Process description:

       Concluded to the TDC management that the Microsoft product they had at the time did not make sense to carry on with, as it would never make a profit and was getting obsolete.

       LV consulted technicians, partners, vendors, sales agents and customers to find out what the market needed and what the vendors could offer.

       Based on new techniques in Microsoft Exchange 2003 a partnership was formed with Microsoft and a new way of selling data and online email was born.

       Training of the strategic sale towards the sales teams was initiated.

Result:

       Office-Online was re launched within TDC and went from a unsatisfactory WAP-access to Outlook emails to a colorful PDA push, laptop end browser variant that had a huge success with the sales people and customers.

       The Office-Online product went from 2 customers and 200 users to 45 customers and 10,000+ users.

Task/Project Description

Outline a product test setup for the GPRS-billing platform and make an information strategy for the newly acquired UMTS / 3G license and handle number porting problems.

Process description:

       LV participated in the specifications works of the fundamental and crucial GPRS-billing (Packed Switched Data) revolution with TDC.

       Participated in test teams and developed detailed test plans to ensure no errors in billing of data.

       LV optimized the number porting flows, trained and managed employees and temps during peak periods with general errors in the inter-operator exchange of mobile phone numbers.

       LV was responsible for preparing the TDC organization for the 3G revolution through training, technical workshops and hands-on.

Result:

Launched GPRS-billing functionality by end May 2003. Optimized the TDC number porting process and helped TDC get out of the bad press around the new feature and cut the costs of 20 temps.
